Jakub Wiejacki was born in 1958 in Lodz (Poland). He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in his hometown. Professional specialization – textile pattern designer. After two years of work for textile industry Jakub Wiejacki focused entirely on cartoons drawing. His first cartoon was published in renowned Polish satirical magazine Karuzela. Since 1988 to 2010 he cooperated with many newspapers and magazines in Poland and sometimes abroad. Currently he is working only for his own pleasure. In his creative work he prefers to paint using brushes, acrylic colours, poster and watercolours mixed with acrylic media, and sometimes airbrush but only for moisturising paper. For drawings he uses different pens, technical pens and brush pens. Jakub Wiejacki presented his artworks at several individual and uncountable collective exhibitions in Poland and abroad. He participated in some cartoon contests and his works have been awarded a number of prestigious prizes and honourable mentions (let us mention at least some of them: 1st Prize – Satyrykon 1997 Legnica, Poland; 1st Prize – Humorest 2014 Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic, and others). He has been invited to be a member of Juries of International cartoon competitions. He is a member of the Association of Polish Caricature Artists. Jakub Wiejacki is living and working in Justynow, Poland.
