Carlos Alberto da Costa AMORIM was born in 1964 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He started to publish his works in 1984 at Pasquim, an humoristical newspaper. Currently he publishes his editorial cartoons, caricatures and comics strips in many Brazilian newspapers and magazines. Carlos Amorim produced humour texts (1994) and animations (2004) for the television net Rede Globo and he is author of a cartoon book called Canastra Suja (1991). His works were awarded in many events as Salao Internacional de Humor 2004 (Teresina/ Brazil), Premio Internacional de Humor Grafico Peloduro 2004 (Minas/Uruguai), Ranan Lurie Cartoon Awards 2001 (New York/USA), Turismovision 2001 (Stuttgart/Germany), Festival Acquaviva Nei Fumetti 1999 (Acquaviva Picena/Italy), International Cartoon Exhibition 1998 (Hokkaido/Japan), Bienal Internacional de Humor 1995 (Havana/Cuba) and participated in many humour contests and exhibitions in France, Belgium, Bulgaria, Poland, Portugal, Mexico, Turkey, Iran, Izrael, Italia, Cuba and Japan. Amorim had individual exhibitions in Museu Nacional de Belas Artes 1999 (Rio de Janeiro/Brazil), Museu do Inga 1993 (Niteroi/Brazil)). In 1997 he participated as a Jury member of the III Biennial of International Cartoon Exhibition (Tehran/Iran). Since 2004 he participates as a Jury member (by Internet) of many Cartoons Contests around the world. In 2004 and 2007 Amorim was invited to participate in the Rencontre Internationale du Dessin de Presse (Carquefou/France) and in 2009 participated as a Jury member of the 29° Nasreddin Hodja Cartoon Contest (Istanbul/Turkey). Carlos Amorim iIlustrated many children books and teaches Cartoon and Caricature since 1994 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
