Marco De Angelis was born in Rome (Italy) in 1955. He is cartoonist, illustrator, professional journalist, graphic designer. He published on over 200 newspapers in Italy and abroad from ’75: Il Popolo, La Repubblica, Metropoli, (he was cartoonist and also editor in these three newspapers), Il Messaggero, Il Mattino, Panorama, Grazia, I Gialli Mondadori, La Discussione Lavorare, TP Trasporti Pubblici, L’Eco di San Gabriele, Shalom, Help!, ComicArt, Comix, the new editions of Il Travaso and Marc’Aurelio, The New York Times, Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Herald, Herald Tribune, Los Angeles Times, Tampa Tribune, Vancouver Sun, Institutional Investor, Courrier International, Le Monde, Nebelspalter, Yez, Eulenspiegel, Almanach Vermot, Fire, Fenamizah, etc. He was also editor from Italy of the american magazine WittyWorld and he is one of three creators and editor in chief of the humour magazine online “Buduàr”. The New York Times Syndicate and CartoonArts International distributed his editorial cartoons worldwide and he is also part of Cartoon Movement and Cartooning for Peace. Illustrator for many children’s books for big publishers like Giunti, De Agostini, La Scuola, San Paolo, Lapis, Salani, European Language Institute (illustrations for 28 magazines distributed in 30 Countries, in 5 languages). He collaborated with several associations, companies and TV networks (RAI TV, Telemontecarlo and others), with graphic projects and illustrations. He won the Golden Palm in the International Salon of Humour in Bordighera 1997 and received almost 130 international prizes: two Golden Date in Bordighera, two 1st Prizes Council of Europe, 1st Prize in Istanbul 1987 and 2016, 1st Prize in Tehran, Krusevac, Olen, Belgrade, Sisak, Pistoia, Dolo, Fano, Città di Castello, Pescara, Genova, Le Piastre, etc. He was awarded also in Amsterdam, Tokyo, Skopje, Montreal, Ottawa, Galati, Ferrara and other contests. His works are published on over 100 books and 500 catalogs. Member of many juries in cartoon and literary contests. His cartoons are exhibited in many museums in the World: Tolentino, Skopje, Istanbul, Tehran, Stockholm (Strindberg Museum), Boca Raton (Cartoon Museum, Florida) and others.
